Lubriphonic
greases
your ears, moves your hips, and leaves you reeling in sweaty bliss.
Simmering and intense, with chops to spare, Lubriphonic’s live
performances create a spicy dish that is guaranteed to cure what ails
you.
Lubriphonic is the
brainchild of guitarist Giles
Corey
and drummer Rick
King
and began with a residency at
Chicago’s legendary Checkerboard
Lounge.
They
recruited some of the best blues, funk, and rock musicians in the city
for these raucous sessions. The result fuses roots
music
with explosive rock’n’roll
and sensuous old-school
dance
music--
part Stones,
part Funkadelic,
and part Otis
Redding.
The members of
Lubriphonic
have individually toured with artists as diverse as Koko Taylor, Buddy
Miles, Otis Rush, The Ohio
Players, and Lenny Kravitz.
They have fused their talents and experience as side-men in order to
create an orignal project that is soulful, unique, and exciting.
Lubriphonic
marked 2006 with it’s second
album “Supermoncho”
recorded completely live in the studio. Available for download at CD
Baby and iTunes, the ten original tracks are aggressive and soulful,
propelled by a relentless
groove,
crunchy
guitar,
and popping
horns.
Lubriphonic
continues to tour throughout the Midwest, including the Wakarusa
Festival,
Tabfest,
and Blottopia
VII.
Live, the band expands it’s repertoire into lush and diverse
improvisations, bringing their dynamic sonic stew to growing audiences
everywhere.
Their two 2008
releases, "Soul
Solution" and "Lubriphonic Live" (the
latter recorded live in a single set at aliveOne in
Chicago) exemplify
this. The recordings capture the band at it's best-- confident,
daring,
and very, very, funky. Lubriphonic fuses old-school soul music
with
hip shaking rock'n'roll and searing improvisation.
Lubriphonic enters
2009 continuing to tour throughout the nation, as
well as crafting a new studio release slated for fall.

Fourth
Dimension
 |
Already
dubbed as "South
Florida reggae legends" by the Miami Herald, Fourth Dimension launched
off 2008 with a massive New Years concert with UK's 1 reggae act, Steel
Pulse. Their track record only continued to escalate as they headlined
Miami, Florida’s famous "15th Annual Caribbean Festival"(previously
known as the Bob Marley Fest), which was founded and is still run by
Bob Marley's family. Following this event they played the role of
supporting act for international reggae stars Maxi Priest and Toots and
The Maytals.
In the past they have performed at the world-acclaimed “Reggae
Sunsplash”, toured internationally with Jamaican dancehall star,
Mr.Vegas and shared the stage with artists such as Bob Dylan, The Beach
Boys, UB40, Mos Def, James Brown, John Mayer and many others.
On may 10 they released their 15 track album Invazion for which they
teamed up with Karl Pitterson, the legend who recorded and mixed Time
Magazine’s “The Best Album of the 20th Century”, Bob Marley and The
Wailer’s Exodus Album, and Steel Pulse’s first three albums. Immersed
in Pitterson’s studio in South Miami Florida non-stop for over 4 month
period, the innovative pairing introduced some new and surprising
elements into the band's established reggae sound. Pitterson has put
his mark on other records of such artists as Mick Jagger, Peter Tosh,
Steel Pulse, The Skatalites, Robert Palmer and Grace Jones and brought
that same vibe and passion to Fourth Dimension’s new album, Invazion.
As rastafarian vocalist/bassist Jah Steve divulges, "In a sense we were
trying to create a progressive reggae album while keeping the authentic
reggae sound. This concept is precisely why we chose Karl Pitterson to
help us with our vision. On the album we feature our new super-dynamic
drummer Joe “Grind” Fagan and special guest grammy-nominee drummer,
Bradley Brown from Sizzla. When writing songs for this album we set out
to keep a positive yet rebellious message while staying innovative and
fresh..we didn’t want the album to sound like any other reggae album”
Jah Steve has been involved in the reggae scene since an early age and
has backed up Jamaican “Studio 1” greats such as Derrick Morgan. He
names Wailer's bassist Aston "Familyman" and Eric Clapton as his
musical role models.
Drummer Joseph "Grind" Fagan was born from Jamaican parents who have
instilled the culture in him. He began playing the drums at the age of
five and has been inspired by Dennis Chambers, Carlton Barret and Dave
Weckle. Joseph studied with Jonathan Joseph, Russ Miller and attended
Musicians Institute of Hollywood California. Joseph has toured with
Lady Saw, John Holt and many other R&B and reggae acts.
Guitarist and vocalist Strings, who was recently endorsed by Hutchins
Guitars (UK guitar company who endorses Saliva and UK’s The Kooks)
says, “It was quite an honor recording some songs on Bob Marley’s
personal stage guitar amplifier a 1960’s Fender Twin. We used several
different guitars and guitar amps from vintage to newer models in order
to achieve different tonalities.
The lyrics on Invazion reflects themes such as the band’s assurance in
that positivity and humanitarian beliefs are still alive. With lyrics
on the title track that chat, “If we all could keep on giving the love
that we have, Lets reach a new land”. And in Muertos En Vida, one of
the two spanish tracks on the album Pierre Arnau Keyboards/Vocals asks,
“What kind of seeds must we plant to see this world grow?”.
Pierre, who had years of classical piano training before moving to the
keyboards, relates, “reggae music is like medicine, people come to our
shows and tell us they are off their medication and its because we
helped them with our music”. The music on the album Invazion was
created on the concept of elevating the spirit, body and soul through
word-sound-power, it’s what we believe the album was meant to be but it
is really up to the listeners to interpret it in their own way.”
Fourth Dimension succeeds on being revolutionary and radical on this
album as well. With tracks like Too Little Too Late, a song criticizing
the government for their lack of assistance on the disaster caused by
Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans the chorus sings “They saw the water
was risin’, What they did seems like nuthin’, We saw the innocent
dyin’, Thought someone would do something”.
FOURTH DIMENSION will take you on an innovative musical journey while
breaking all the rules of the space time-continuum. It is an experience
you do not want to miss. This groundbreaking quartet has played
alongside such legendary artists as Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, Toots and
the Maytals, Maxi Priest, Mos Def, Julian Marley, Stephen "Ragga"
Marley, Mother Cedella Marley, Kymani Marley, Steel Pulse, Third World,
UB40, Toots and the Maytals, Maxi Priest, Culture, Lucky Dube, Bunny
Wailer, Marcia Griffiths, Yellowman, Bob Dylan, Sheryl Crow, Shaggy,
James Brown, John Mayer, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, The Beach Boys, The
Wailers, Inner Circle, George Clinton, Capleton, Mr. Vegas, Luciano,
Freddie McGregor, Burning Spear, Yami Bolo, Uncle Kracker, Russel
Malone and Diana King.

Sabrina
Taylor

"This young woman has an extremely powerful voice and you can hear her
passion belted from it on the four songs contained on this EP. I highly
recommend you keep your eye on this girl; she’s destined for big
things. This is a great EP to own and I suggest you get your hands on
one." GEOFF DELLINGER, Entertainment World
"Sabrina
Taylor
offers
country-tinged
pop/rock
that
features sweet vocals and
tight band chemistry. Her songs are well crafted, catchy and fun. Nova
Scotia’s loss is definitely our gain. Taylor should have a very
promising future here in L.A." MUSIC CONNECTION REVIEW, Bob Leggett
"There’s
a
great
deal
of
wannabe
musicians running around Los Angeles with a
guitar and a dream. Most of them should get back on the bus and go home
to Kansas, West Virginia...where ever it was they boarded that
Greyhound. Sabrina Taylor is not one of them." CELEBRITY BABYLON, Bill

Hypernova
 |
"At a
time when the chasm between East and West is growing daily and
misplaced
hostility and lack of communication are thwarting any efforts at
building
bridges, it is reassuring to know that there is still one medium that
remains
uncorrupted by petty bigotry and short-sightedness, and transcends all
issues
of race, religion and ideology. The Islamic Republic of Iran may not
seem the
most likely breeding ground for young up-and-coming musicians but,
thanks to a
few daring pioneers, doors that were seemingly locked tight by the
strict moral
laws have been cracked by a new generation of home-grown talent. Out of
a
musical landscape dominated by more traditional Prog-rockers, Metallers
and the
increasingly popular electronic and hip-hop sound, an Indie band named
Hypernova was born." Now Iran
is not too famous for its rock music, but these guys are going to
change all
that. Each member brings a different vibe and sound to the band to give
it an
even more unique edge. And even though they’re just another obscure
band in the
galaxy of musicians, their following is growing at a very fast rate,
thanks
mostly to their legions of underground fans who have helped spread the
word. In
all reality, these guys are no different from the rest of the rockers
around
the world; their music is all about having a good time and just rocking
your
brains out. They’re not in this game for the money, fame or glory. And
they’re
definitely not trying to change the world...or are they?" NOX

Rob
Drabkin
 |
Many people choose music, but for others music chooses them. Rob
began playing the electric guitar at age 11, learning note-for-note
solos of every Metallica and Guns ‘N Roses tune he could find.
But his metal edge began to fade after enrolling in his school’s jazz
ensemble where he was exposed to an array of new artists, rhythms,
chords, and more importantly, the beauty of improvisation.
Noticing his natural talent for the instrument, guitar virtuoso Ted
Reece took Rob as a private student. Reece introduced him to the
acoustic guitar while helping him develop his ear and strengthen his
playing.
Rob was annually awarded excellence for his performance
in the high school band and was offered a scholarship offer to join the
jazz ensemble at Trinity University (TX). Throughout college, Rob
maintained music only as a hobby and graduated Phi Beta Kappa in
biochemistry/molecular biology and Spanish. His academic aspirations
suddenly halted one evening in New York City when it dawned on him he
also wanted to sing. Having never sung a note in his life, Rob
began spending six to eight hours a day, developing his voice and
songwriting skills.
With a unique voice, an incredible guitar style, and a
handful of original tunes, Rob stormed onto Denver’s local music scene,
leaving audiences impressed. Within a mere week of open stages,
he was offered his first gig at Arvada’s D-NOTE. Shortly
thereafter, he was playing to full crowds at Boulder's legendary Fox
Theatre and opening for national acts such as Leon Russell, Colin Hay,
The Wood Brothers, Raul Midon, Backdoor Slam, and Lucy Kaplansky.
Over the past two years, he has toured across the country supporting
long time Dave Matthews collaborator, Tim Reynolds. And in March
2007, The Fox Theatre invited Rob as the main support for its sold-out
15th anniversary show with The John Butler Trio. His full band
headlining shows in Denver and Boulder are now to sold-out
crowds.
Recently,
Rob
performed
for
former
President
Bill Clinton, Senators Ken Salazar
and Bob Hernandez, and Congressman John Salazar and he is already
booked to play at The Democratic National Convention in August 2008.
His song "Sweet Things" is currently in rotation on Sirius Channel 30:
The Coffee House, and 97.3 KBCO has invited Rob twice now to perform in
its world renowned Studio C. In addition, 93.3 KTCL, 102.3 KCUV
and 99.5 The Mountain have all featured Rob live and have added him
into local rotation. Rob Drabkin's career seems to escalate daily
as he gains fans and recognition wherever he plays.

the snowy peaks of the Rockies to the sunny beaches of San Diego to the
crystal shores of South Lake Tahoe, Strive Roots has evolved into a
hip-shaking, mind-expanding, inspirational musical project that is
flourishing by packing concert halls to mountain saloons throughout the

themselves attempting to pin down their experience with words, but have
only been able to come up with one core phrase to explain Strive Roots,
“Roots Infused Power Groove”. What is Roots Infused Power Groove? It’s
the funky beat swirling in your hips, it’s the message of awareness and
change demanding to be heard, it’s original soul with modern beats,
it’s your new favorite genre of music.
Poweredby a mission to save the planet, Strive Roots’ conscious music
melds
the genres of reggae, hard rock, funk, and hip hop. Live shows
are the
platform for the band’s immense talent, creativity, and bold
flavor.

a plethora of publicity plugs around the globe. Thanks to their choice
as snowboarder Hannah Teter’s Olympic gold medal soundtrack, Strive
Roots has been mentioned on Good Morning America, The Letterman Show,
Jay Leno and The Jimmy Kemmel Show. Their track “Communicate” was
launched into primetime after it gave Teter the motivation she needed

Winter Games.
Strive

Strive
Roots takes pride in having self-produced their music through their own

Statewide
Emergency
|
Statewide Emergency just released their debut
album, Another Point of View. The album, recorded at Coupe
Studios (Rose Hill Drive, The Fray), showcases a band with songwriting
skills on the level of aspiring bands twice their age.
The band, with no member older then 18, has
managed to capture everything they love about rock and roll into their
sound – loud and heavy, with driving drums and intricate guitar solos,
while still incorporating interesting melodies and harmonies influenced
by modern bands such as queens of the stone age. The calender on our myspace is oftentimes more
up to date than the calender on our epk. if interested, it can be
viewed at myspace.com/statewideemergency
Won 10-18 Battle of the Bands at Cervantes put
on by MTV and Paul Green School of Rock. Placed 9th in the Progressive Motion battle of

"This
teenage
quartet
has
dodged
the
manufactured rock and substandard punk
that plague many of their contemporaries by operating under the radar,
boasting boisterous guitar rock fare steeped in ’70s counterculture
that demonstrates musical skill well beyond their years." - Adam Trask,
